10/31/2012 0 Comments PHAELEH's DREAMBOAT RUDIMENTAL REMIXIt's all about the dreamboats this week. A dreamboat can be applied to a person/object/thing that is dreamlike in quality and basically just FIT.
My poor friend aka Dreamboat really 'suffers' with this nickname (I always think it could be SO much worse!). So, there's been an actual dreamboat in Mt Wolf's first music video which I commented on below and now this dreamboat remix. Also, it's my birthday on an actual Friday this week so that's sure to be dreamy, having my mates in the same place with a license to party (ahem) and at least 36 hours left of the weekend to recover. Let's cut to the musical chase, this remix is by Phaeleh, who is a producer from Bristol. He has an album out called Fallen Light on Afterglo. I've previously enjoyed his synth-tastic remix of Charlie XCX's Jungle so recognised the name. His latest reworking sounds surprisingly different to the original, Rudimental's new single Not Giving In, which is brilliant. No-one actually wants a suped-up version of its predecessor do they? It is glorious enough with its euphoric drum and bass beats underlying that big PHAT soul vocal and if said suped-up version had even a tenth of the womp that's in Skrillex's grubby little finger, I'd certainly stay well clear. Hence, this has made me very pleased indeed. It's moody, sombre, soulful, rich and a bit of a beaut quite frankly. Enjoy!
