A new week means a new Track of the Week on Amazing Breakfast. This time it comes from the brilliant Saint Saviour. You may have seen her on tour with Groove Armada, having contributed to some of the best songs (I think) on their Grammy-nominated album Black Light. I'm thinking of Paper Romance and I Won't Kneel. After that she went on the road as their front woman and her talent was certainly noted in reviews. As soon as I spotted she'd uploaded her solo material to the Amazing Tunes site that was it. Totally stoked to have her on board and astonished that she's not been snapped up by a label yet. Have a listen and watch the new video in which there is a whole lot of neon. This Ain't No Hymn is Track of the Week and there is lots more at her Amazing Tunes profile page. One word. Birdsong. Listen. It's a beaut.

2/25/2011 0 Comments NME Awards 2011 video round-upI went back stage at the NME Awards 2011 for NXG Magazine. Hear from Biffy Clyro, Foals, Noel Fielding, Carl Barat, Professor Green, The Naked and Famous, The Vaccines and Hurts in this full video-round up from the media dungeon! Went down to the NME Awards last night at London's Brixton Academy. Video interviews with a whole loads of acts coming soon, but here's a couple of snaps with sum up the night. Once the media run was complete I headed down to catch the second hour of Foo Fighters set! They kicked things off with a collaboration with Roger Daltrey of The Who only to continue playing 'til gone midnight. I've not seen the Foo's play since Hyde Park in 2006 and had no idea they were going to be doing a proper set. It was unreal. Check out the legend that is Dave Grohl in action. Grown men were high-fiving each other throughout while every girl in the room was besotted. Swoon! And now for the set list!!!! This was spotted on the night bus home. A punter had lovingly torn it from the stage and was guarding it with their life. A memento from an awesome night. They let me take a snap of it.
2/17/2011 0 Comments Londoners: this is a MUSTKyla La Grange and Daughter on one bill. Hell yeah! It's the Noir single launch party for Kyla La Grange, whose song Walk Through Walls, was Track of the Week on the show recently. She and Daughter are two of the budding stars we have been championing on Amazing Radio. This night on Tuesday 8th March is an absolute must, and with DJ sets from The Maccabees, Coco Sumner and Liam Bailey. Couldn't be more in if I tried! A new week calls for a new Artist of the Week. Haight Ashbury are under the Amazing Breakfast spotlight this time. They are from Glasgow. Formed of a lad and two ladies. And they are currently recording at the moment so we can expect new material this year. Liking their sound. It's totally different to the majority of new music I've heard recently. The vocals are lush and as for the rest it can be grunge, bluesy, psychedelic and a bit folky all at the same time. I caught up with Kirsty from the band and that interview will be going out on Wednesday morning after 9am and then posted here in our interview archive soon after. A good entry point is Freeman Town or Favourite Song. Haight Ashbury's music on Amazing Tunes. 2/14/2011 1 Comment NXG TV: Xclusive 14/02/11Simon Cowell contacts Li-Lo for American X Factor, Leona Lewis set to launch her own fashion range, Banksy nominated for an Oscar and Beyonce confirms Glastonbury (Whoop!). Inspired by James Blake's The Wilhelm Scream, it's out on grey heart shaped vinyl just in time for the big day and is short, to the point and delicious. Since touring with Jack Penate as his backing singer, Jessie Ware has also been working with SBTRKT and is now signed to PMR,which is an imprint of Island Records. Watch out for her now and in the future. Even Drake posted this song on his blog. BIG. This is the video for Valentine. 2/8/2011 0 Comments NXG TV: Xclusive 08/02/11Thin Lizzy guitarist passes away, supermodel Kate Moss reveals her engagement ring, Colin Farrell and Robert Pattinson dominate Hollywood and Chipmunk imparts some wise words on how to make it to stardom.
