This week I am back in the saddle on my XFM Friday morning show and my guest on Late Night Love-In is Bec Wood from Coves.
The band have been growing a steady fan base for the last couple of years and put out their anticipated debut album 'Soft Friday' on March 31st.
Hear Bec chatting about being on tour with Band Of Skulls (whose new album track Nightmares is GREAT by the way), the new record and life in the Coves camp ahead of its release.
You can also hear which track she chose as her Late Night Love-In track....
Fresh back from my holiday I was asked last minute to cover Danielle Perry on XFM and was very pleased to have the first play of The Black Keys new single. What a show to cover! Especially as during the holiday my friends and I had listened to a LOT of The Black Keys and Junior Kimborough, an American blues musician who has influenced them.
I had a chat with Patrick Carney from the band about their new record Turn Blue. Listen to our conversation here...
Last week I had the pleasure of chatting to Jenn Wasner from Wye Oak (one of my favourite Baltimore bands) again about their new album.
The Tower is the first taster of Shriek, the new LP. She talks candidly about the writer's block which she suffered with for a while before the album tracks were formed and about how they are going to play the new record live, still with just two of them! *skills* They are about to head off on tour in the UK with Future Islands, previous Late Night Love-In guests.
Can't wait for the new record and below you can hear Jen and I in conversation on my XFM show and her chosen track by Neneh Cherry.
