When I was covering for Matt Everitt on BBC 6 Music Breakfast for two weeks chatting all things music news with Shaun Keaveny I was lucky that the Led Zeppelin press conference happened to fall in that time. *YES*
We went to the screening and then managed to get some balls to ask the kings of rawk Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones a question each.
Shaun's (much more succinct) one is at 20 minutes in and mine (which was somewhat of a waffle) is at 26 mins in.
The film is a must. Jimmy Page's axe-wielding screw face is a marvel! Their power, charisma, the sound, the way they play as a unit, Robert Plant's almighty instrument of a voice, Jason Bonham channelling his late father John Bonham, it's just epic.
I was asked if I wanted to go to the premiere in London, so of course I went, brought a t-shirt AND a poster so I feel I can officially say "Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day. Been there, done that, (went bright red as I asked a question in the press conference) and got the ruddy t-shirt".
One for the grand-kids hey!?
