Laki Mera: Track of the Week / 14th March

Picture
Laki Mera's More Than You is Track of the Week on the show (Amazing Breakfast) starting from Monday, which means we get to play it to you a whole five times before the weekend. Can I get a whoop whoop for that!?

They are a five-piece electronica outfit from Glasgow.  Their debut album Clutter was released in 2008 and they did a Radiohead and asked fans to pay what they wanted for it.

It's been described as folktronica (hmmm) ambient trip hop (okaaaaaay) and lush space jazz (just no!).

Despite those (somewhat lame I think) attempts to categorise it, it's a wicked song.

Have a little listen here.

Royal Treatment Plant: Artist of the Week/7th March

Picture
It's that time of year again.

A festival which Samuel Beam from Iron and Wine told me is like the "industry version of mardi gras'.  Let's be honest, I still wish I was there!

It's SXSW in Austin, Texas.  The music event kicks off later this month on March 15th.
And our Artist of the Week on Amazing Breakfast is off yonder to those parts this month.

They go by the name of Royal Treatment Plant.  Check their work out here on their Amazing Tunes profile page.

Also well worth checking out the RAC remix of All That's Left. It's brilliant, so brilliant in fact that it was playlisted on Amazing Radio.

Listen to my chat with Paula from the band here.

The latest single Battle Scars is out now. Go forth and show them some love.

Bear Driver: Track of the Week /7th March

Picture
Enemy by Bear Driver is our glorious new Track of the Week on Amazing Breakfast.

Here are the vital statistics:

The band comprises of six people from London via Leeds.

Expect duelling guitars, fast drums, rock steady bass and a windpowered keytar. Apparently.

Influences include Yo La Tengo, Sparklehorse, Wolf Parade, Sonic Youth, The National and Arcade Fire.

They rule and this track sounds rad on the radio.

Listen to Enemy on Amazing Tunes right 'ere.

What's more you can get that and another track called Jenny for FREEEEEE.

Check out all of our Artist of the Week interviews from the show. Hear from The Answering Machine, Royal Treatment Plant, Haight Ashbury, Matt Norris and the Moon and more.
