The band Do No Harm joined broadcaster, music journalist and DJ Georgie Rogers on her latest monthly #musicdiscovery programme on Soho Radio.

While Finn, Owen and Jess Mills (SLO) have all done loads of music over the years it was their FIRST band interview for the project ? Lucky us!

They chatted about its conception, their first EP, working with Ali Chant, Finn and Jess doing a lot of the writing at home while doing domestic things like feeding their kids, then said kids being very musical, the new single Open and their future plans for Do No Harm.

The brilliant talent that is Gus Harvey joined me in the studio on my latest Music Discovery programme on Soho Radio. Gus is back with an amazing new single Easy Pt 1 from a new EP incoming on the House Anxiety label.

We also dug into her back catalogue playing an oldie titled Durga and I asked her to bring in an inspiration track so she brought the vinyl of the incredible Mood Valiant album by Hiatus Kaiyote. It even matched her outfit!! ♥️

So Gus and I go way back. I've been a fan of her work since the very start of her career giving her debut single Witches its very first radio airplay nationally in the UK on my Virgin Radio new music show. Since then we have kept in touch and so it was such a treat to be able to have Gus on the show live to talk all about love, how the pandemic changed her writing process and the running theme of the elements weaved throughout her EPs.

Mera Bhai AKA Karthik Poduval the multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ and drummer in the Psych band Flamingods is the latest guest in the studio on my Music Discovery show on Soho Radio. His second EP Relax Into Yourself is out on April 6th on his own label Raga Records.

We go deep into the themes of the new tracks, growing up across various continents and how that shaped his musical DNA and working with collaborators such as Stealing Sheep and Maria Uzor formerly of Sink Ya Teeth.

As far as ones to watch for 2023 I give you Nuha Ruby Ra.

I closed out my 2022 Music Discovery shows on Soho Radio with her as my live guest. Last year Nuha had an incredible year of support slots touring with the likes of Warmduscher, Wu Lu, Yard Act and more. In our conversation we get into how going to art school helped her music-making process, her early band experiences with Arrows of Love, what music she consumed in her early and teenage years, the making of her new EP Machine Like Me which is due out in March 2023 and about never being boxed in. She's the coolest and I loved chatting to her.

Hey guys. So this month on Music Discovery on Soho Radio Cubicolor return with their third studio album on Anjunadeep Records, titled Sometime Not Now. During the week of release Tim Digby-Bell, singer, songwriter and guitarist of the British-Dutch trio popped by the studio in Soho to chat all about the new album. A previous guest on the show around their second effort Hardly A Day, Hardly A Night we talked about the time in between, the dreaded Covid times, revisiting their previously scrapped album, getting Richard Spaven to add some hypnotic drums and getting back out live.

Elkka returned with a phenomenal new single titled I Just Want To Love You. I've loved her music for the past few years since I became aware of her when Foundation FM started and she and I were both doing shows on there. Her output has been consistently excellent and this summer she's taken the festival circuit by storm as well. It samples the legendary artist John Martyn and there was actually a lovely story as to how they were able to secure the rights to his widow's favourite song. She checked in with me on Music Discovery on Soho Radio via voice note to explain the origins of this beautiful take on love.

While All Them Witches were on their UK tour I brought singer and bassist Charles Michael Parks Jr and drummer Robby Staebler into The Great Frog in Soho to have a look around and record an interview for my Music Discovery programme on Soho Radio. Fun fact, I gave the band their first national UK radio play ever when I was a DJ on XFM around eight years ago and I've been a champion of their music ever since. Quite honestly, everyone I've told about them has gone on to love them! This time around their visit to London included playing a smasher of a show at Electric Ballroom in Camden and the band is no stranger to sold out tours here previously playing the Roundhouse, Koko, Scala and The Lexington. Here, Parks and Robby discuss everything from waiting for two years to tour their last studio album Nothing As The Ideal, snake wrangling, Prince's telephone habits, the Baker's Dozen project for which they've been releasing a track a month and what's next for ATW. For my latest Soho Radio #musicdiscovery show I had the London producer Hagan check in via voicenotes to talk about his upcoming debut studio album. He’s an artist and producer I’ve followed for a while now and we met a few years back when he came into the studio on my Foundation Fm show. Well, he’s back with new tracks Pray For Me and Sise Ntweni from the upcoming project and here he is discussing those. Cheers Brendan for the update, can’t wait for the album ✨✨✨

For this month's Music Discovery programme on Soho Radio I welcomed Aaron and Rob of Jacana People into the studio for chats as they were about to release their Myna Cycles collaborative EP with the very talented composer and pianist Neil Cowley.

The music of electronic duo Jacana People was first brought to my attention during the global pandemic lockdowns so it was great to finally get together face to face to find out about working with Neil, live plans and next Jacana projects in the works.
