My latest guest is Tenderness AKA Katy Beth Young, also known for being one half of Peggy Sue and a key voice in the Deep Throat Choir.
Katy joined me live on Soho Radio on the eve of the release of her EP Heat Wave Love Song to discuss the solo project, heatwaves and love songs about doomed romances, calling in favours from musician friends, doing backing vocals for Laura Marling last year and a little bit of nostalgia for the innocence for the early years coming up in music in Peggy Sue. Katy also performed two tracks from the EP Heat Wave Love Song and Very Day I'm Gone. Watch the whole interview and session here. Thank you Katy for coming in and doing such a GORGEOUS session. Hollie Cook is back with a new album out on Mr Bongo on 10th October titled Shy Girl.
Mr Bongo also put out her 2011 debut record and it was recorded in Crosstown Studios in London as well as studios internationally with the General Roots band and producer Ben McKone. Hollie dropped by the studio to come and have chats. We spoke all about making the record, getting to go to some other countries and her very musical upbringing with a Sex Pistols drummer dad and mum who sang for Culture Club. Loved it. Watch our chat below or listen back to the show. **Please if you can subscribe to the channel on You Tube so you are updated with more conversations with great artists. Thank you!** |
