The Maccabees final shows are looming, just over four months away *wipes tear*.
 
They play two Manchester shows on June 27th and 28th and then three at London's Alexandra Palace from June 29th.
 
They bowed out after their fourth album Marks To Prove It, following 14 years on the road, a Mercury Prize nomination, album chart toppers, countless festival performances, tours and a Latitude headline set last summer.
 
Felix White guitarist in the band has set up a record label and club night Yala! Records and is supporting new music from the likes of The Magic Gang, Idles and Charlie Cunningham.
 
He was on the red carpet at the NME Awards last week to give out the award for Best British Band, which they won in 2016. I grabbed him for a natter about future projects, those final Maccabees gigs and we started by talking about what makes a good UK band....
