Amazing Breakfast round-up

Picture
Check out the Brekky round-up lovingly written by producer Dani Charlton.....

The end of another week comes with a crashing and dramatic conclusion! Well, actually it hasn’t, but I thought I’d say that for dramatic effect. It has been a fun week though – one which saw the lovely Georgie turning 26 on Wednesday’s show! Feel free to leave Georgie belated birthday greetings in the comments…

What HAS happened this week has been a musical education in polar opposites, starting of course, with the delicate rootsy beauty of ourArtist of the Week, Three Metre Day. We’ve been loving hearing Stay That Way on the air so much we couldn’t resist playing a few more choices from their album Coasting Notes. Georgie caught up with singer and pump-organ player Michelle – if you’re as intrigued by the instrument as Georgie was, you can hear all about it:

From gorgeous americana to serious party vibes, because it was her birthday week, Georgie couldn’t resist going for a big party tune for her Track of the Week – and what a tune it is. Big house beats, perfect to set you up for a Friday – get your ears around Connected by D/R/U/G/S

As ever we like to leave you with a selection of audio treats that we can’t get enough of through the week to give your ears an extra little present of a Friday morning. It’s like when you’re opening your stocking on Christmas and you discover there’s still a chocolate orange left right down in the toe. This week we’ve been particularly loving the unfeasibly catchy melodies of Family of the Year’s ‘St Croix’,grimy, grungy goodness from Queen Kwong with Eddie the Kid, the blissed out sound of Elephant, reminiscing about Georgie’s Glasto good times with 1914s, and, as ever, got really excited about some of the sensational music we’ll have on the show next week, so here’s a taster from next week’s Artist of the Week - BASTILLE
