This month's guest interview on my Music Discovery show on Soho Radio is the singer-songwriter Hayden Thorpe.
The former frontman of Wild Beasts releases his third solo album Ness on 27th September 2024 via Domino Recordings. The concept album of sorts was inspired by the writing of Robert MacFarlane about Orford Ness, a National Trust site in Suffolk which has been re-wilded since it was a nuclear test site during the world wars and cold war. Hayden shares the stories of making of the album, its contributors, the sonic world he created, a love song about lichen and moss! on 'She', spending time at Ness while writing and plans for what's next. Watch more videos on the Georgie Rogers Presents You Tube channel with artists including Art School Girlfriend, Kloyd, Alice Russell, Fat Dog, Warmduscher, Squid, Sofia Kourtesis, Nuha Ruby Ra, All Them Witches, Dusky and more.

My next guest on my Music Discovery programme on Soho Radio is the very talented singer songwriter and producer Julia-Sophie, an English-French artist based in Oxford.
She has finally released her wonderful debut album Forgive Too Slow on Ba Da Bing! Records. We had such a lovely conversation about the record and how the record almost stayed abandoned on a dropbox link forever, nearly giving up music all together, her psychotherapy studies and much more. I've supported Jules from the beginning of her solo career and so it was dreamy to finally meet her IRL and have her on the show. |
